Before we proceed further with the narrative, it would be well to have a look at the brave souls who seek their fortune in New Phlan…
Sir Benedik Morningwood Human Fighter Sir Morningwood hails from a minor noble family of the kind found all over rural Cormyr. He excelled at his knightly training, becoming particularly adept at using minor shifts in stance so that his heavy armour absorbs some of the shock of incoming attacks. Like many a younger son of the nobility, he seeks to win glory in a life of adventure.
Angerus Anvilfall Human Barbarian Angerus originally hails from The Ride, but is far better known for his exploits in the great arena of Hillsfar. After nearly a decade of victories, Angerus was taken down by a minotaur, felled by a blow to the head that robbed him of much that he previously knew. He now quests with a singular purpose: to make all such beasts know and fear his name.
Lanyssa Silverfall Half-Elf Bard Lanyssa’s fascination with sound drove her away from civilisation for a long tine; she sought in solitude to produce a note so pure and true that it would change the face of both music and the Realms as a whole. But her studies on the matter indicated indicated similar efforts had been made in the past, and with the effort to re-take Phlan one such center of study seems far more accessible than she could have dreamt possible.
Kaana Daegodel Wood Elf Ranger Kaana is a follower of Rillifane Rallathil. Her family home was wiped out by a monstrous army, an event that unsurprisingly scarred her greatly. She has embraced a role as a protector of both forests and the homes of innocents against all such creatures. Learning of the Barren River that fouls the Quivering Forest, and the horde that occupies the city, she has come to Phlan.
Vesper Lynd Human Warlock Vesper was a novice agent sent to infiltrate the puppet government of Daggerdale. Quickly exposed, she was tied to a tree in a part of the Elven Court known to be a haunt of many fell beasts…but it was a denizen far more fair that discovered her. An accord was struck, and in return for her freedom and eldritch power Vesper pledged to combat the growing darkness across the Moonsea.
Forgann Stoneburrow Halfling Cleric Forgann is a priest of Arvoreen. He has a temprament more typical of dwarven attitudes than one would expect of a halfling; this was shaped partly by his upbringing and partly by his faith.
